Processing & Global Delivery

Shipping Policy

Each DafenArts painting is made, dried, inspected, packed, insured, and shipped with international buyers in mind. Retail orders normally ship by air express, with outbound shipping costs included in the displayed order price unless a product page, quote, or invoice says otherwise.

Outbound shipping is normally included

Retail order prices normally include outbound shipping. Import duties, VAT, brokerage fees, and local charges follow the confirmed DAP or DDP shipping term.

Air express and insurance

Retail orders normally move by tracked air express through our selected courier route, and outbound shipments are insured for declared value.

DAP by default, DDP on request

Unless DDP is requested and confirmed in writing, orders are shipped under DAP. DDP may require an extra charge and customs details such as a VAT, EORI, or Tax ID.

1. Processing Timelines by Order Type

Estimated processing starts after payment confirmation and after all required order details are received. Complex compositions, large sizes, framing, high-volume projects, holidays, and approved correction requests may extend the schedule.

All dates are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. If you need art for an installation, event, or gift deadline, contact us before ordering so we can confirm a realistic painting, drying, packing, and air-shipping plan.

2. Included Shipping and Air Express

  • Outbound shipping included: Retail order prices normally include standard outbound shipping to the delivery region shown at checkout or confirmed in the invoice.
  • Air express: We normally ship retail and custom orders by air express through our approved courier network. Typical express transit is often 7-10 business days after dispatch, depending on destination, customs processing, and carrier performance.
  • Selected courier route: DafenArts chooses the courier and route, such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, or approved shipping partners, based on artwork size, destination, customs term, and insurance availability.
  • Wholesale orders: Bulk projects may ship by air cargo for speed or ocean freight for economy when quoted separately. Large projects may be packed in reinforced crates.
  • Pre-shipment approval: For custom portraits, custom sizes, and many wholesale projects, we may provide photos or video before dispatch.

3. Packaging and Insurance

Oil paintings are packed according to size, surface, frame status, and destination. Rolled canvas may ship in protective tubes. Flat, stretched, framed, oversized, or bulk works may require corner protection, layered film, reinforced cartons, or wooden crates.

  • Insurance: Outbound shipments are insured for their declared value unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Packaging: We use protective tubes, cartons, corner guards, film, boards, or crates based on artwork format and shipment risk.
  • Keep packaging: Keep all packaging until the painting is inspected after delivery.
  • Unboxing video: We strongly recommend recording a short unboxing video from the sealed package through artwork inspection, especially for framed, large, or high-value works.
  • Damage report: If visible damage occurs, photograph the package before opening where possible and contact us within 48 hours.

4. DAP, DDP, Duties, VAT, and Taxes

DafenArts supports both DAP and DDP shipping terms. Unless DDP is specifically requested and confirmed in writing on a quote, invoice, product page, checkout notice, or other written agreement, orders are shipped under DAP.

  • DAP default: Under DAP, import duties, VAT, brokerage fees, remote-area fees, or local charges may be collected from the buyer by the carrier or customs authority.
  • DDP on request: DDP service may be available for selected destinations and order types when requested before dispatch and confirmed in writing by DafenArts.
  • Additional DDP charges: If DDP is requested, additional charges may apply to cover destination import tax, VAT, duties, brokerage, and customs handling.
  • Customs details: Business customers requesting DDP may need to provide VAT, EORI, Tax ID, or other customs identification details required by the destination country or carrier.
  • Local exceptions: Customs inspection, unusual destination rules, buyer-requested route changes, incorrect address information, incomplete customs details, or charges outside the confirmed DDP route may still create extra cost or delay.
  • Classification: Some jurisdictions may classify original hand-painted artwork differently from printed goods, but tax treatment depends on destination rules and shipment documentation.

5. Tracking and Address Changes

  • Tracking information is sent after carrier pickup or freight booking confirmation.
  • Check your shipping address carefully before production and dispatch.
  • Address changes after dispatch may not be possible and may create carrier fees or delays.
  • Failed delivery attempts, incorrect addresses, severe weather, local holidays, customs inspection, or carrier disruptions are outside our direct control.
  • If a package is refused, abandoned, or returned because of incorrect information or failure to cooperate with delivery requirements, related carrier, return, storage, or re-shipping costs may be deducted where allowed.

6. Frames and Rolled Canvas

DafenArts may ship artwork as rolled canvas, flat canvas, stretched canvas, framed artwork, or crated artwork depending on the selected product option, size, surface, destination, and courier requirements. Frame orders require additional protection and may have different return conditions from unframed canvas.

  • Rolled canvas: Rolled canvas is usually the safest and most efficient format for international air shipping. Minor curl from tube shipping is normal and should settle during stretching or framing.
  • Flat or stretched work: Larger, stretched, or framed works may require reinforced cartons, corner protection, or crates, and may have longer preparation time.
  • Standard frames: Standard frame options are packed with extra corner and surface protection. Buyers should keep all protective materials until inspection is complete.
  • Custom frames: Custom frame sizes, special finishes, and buyer-specific frame requests may require extra preparation time and follow the custom order rules after confirmation.
  • Inspection: Inspect the canvas, frame, corners, glass if applicable, and packaging immediately after delivery. Keep photos, video, and packaging evidence for any insurance claim.
